Murviel-les-Béziers is a quaint medieval village, in the Department of Hérault in the Languedoc Region of Southern France. Located between the sea and the mountains of Haut Languedoc, the elevated village of Murviel, overlooks the valleys and plains of the Orb river. The Château of Murviel-les-Béziers takes pride of place at the very top of the village, with magnificent views of the surrounding landscape. It has both medieval and Renaissance origins, dating from the 12th & 15th centuries. It was the ancestral home of the Lords of Murviel until 1806. The proprietor Mr. Yves Cousquer and his wife Florence acquired the Chateau in 2001 .
